Japan's popular Emperor Akihito will ablicate (step down) on health grounds on April 30,2018.This is going to be the first retirement of any Japanese emperor in more than two centuries in the world's oldest imperial family. Emperor Akihito has remained as the most esteemed and admired emperor of Japan for past decades. He also was an ever- smiling emperor of the people - a shunning example of the warm, hospitable and friendly people of Japan.
Japanese emperor is seen as the symbol of country's sovereignty. For centuries, the members of the imperial family have enjoyed highest esteem and this is possibly one of the very few imperial families who remained out of any controversy.
Emperor Akihito's eldest son, 57 years old Crown Prince Naruhito is expected to ascend the Chrysanthemum Throne on 01May 2018.
In today's world, it really is very rare, finding an imperial on royal family remaining above any controversy. For example, in Britain, Prince Charles [the next inheritant of the British Throne ] has been the most scandalous member of the royal family.
